Crossroads Community Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the barrenness of damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.

Crossroads Community Position on Gender, Sexuality, and Marriage

As a faith based evangelical organization Crossroads Community believes:

Scripture teaches that God created two distinct genders, male and female, with the gender of each person determined at conception (Genesis 1:27; 5:2; Psalm 119:13-16; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6).

The Bible teaches that sexual activity be expressed exclusively within the covenant of marriage (Proverbs 5:18-19; Malachi 2:15; Matthew 19:7-9; Romans 1:26-27; I Corinthians 5:1, 6:9, 7:2; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:25-28; I Timothy 1:10; Hebrews 13:4)

Scripture consistently describes marriage as the holy union between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:2628, 2:24; Proverbs 2:16-17; Malachi 2:14; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:7-9; Ephesians 5:31).

Any activity in word or deed inconsistent with the Word of God as described above would be sufficient to demonstrate a departure from biblical truths and practices.
